ReachOut is a mentoring charity that changes the lives of young people from disadvantaged communities in London and Manchester. We believe that with the right support every young person can reach their full potential.
Set up by a group of university students with a desire to make a lasting change in the community, ReachOut started out with just 20 young people from Manchester in 1994. In 2004 we expanded to London and now also work in Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Camden with mentors from many companies and universities.
Our Mission Statement
ReachOut is a mentoring charity working with children in disadvantaged communities to raise aspirations and help them grow in character and competence.
We improve self-confidence and develop numeracy, literacy, communication and memory skills whilst reinforcing our core values of fairness, self-control, good judgement and staying power.
We do this through one-to-one mentoring with positive role models and team activities to promote leadership, trust and responsibility.
We look to make a real impact on the communities in which we work and today our structured, focused programme gives over a thousand children every year the confidence and skills they need for a brighter future.
