SNCBC works in partnership with Sunderland City Council to provide Job Linkage – a n
nationally accredited Information, Advice and Guidance service that aims to ‘Link Local
People to Local Jobs’.
Our quality customer focused service is free and supports local residents from the City of Sunderland who are not working and want help to get a job; as well as helping Sunderland businesses and inward investors with recruitment needs. We do this by providing innovative and flexible ways to remove barriers that may be preventing individuals accessing education, training and employment opportunities. Through its Community Enterprise Team, SNCBC also works with residents who wish to change employment and supports those investigating self-employment opportunities. We currently deliver a number of outreach services which operate from community centres, libraries and health centres, as well as operating from static bases within the heart of the community. Employer Link is also part of the Job Linkage network in Sunderland. The project offers a fully integrated recruitment service free of charge to any employer, large or small. This free service includes advertising vacancies, jobs and skills matching, application sifting, client screening, customised training to suit employer requirements, support in the preparation of job descriptions and person specifications, organising bespoke recruitment events, an after care service for the client and employer and a single point of contact throughout the recruitment process. Clients are matched to the vacancies by their skills and desirable professions, so we only refer the clients that suit employer requirements. Job Linkage supports the clients extensively on an individual basis in their search for employment and provides a free service including advice, guidance, short training courses and help with application forms to enhance clients’ employability and refer clients to Employer Link when they are job ready.
Who we help: We support workless residents within Sunderland, employed residents without a full level 3 qualification and residents under threat of redundancy.
