Whilst Christian values are at the heart of our work, the YMCA is an inclusive youth organisation that welcomes members of all faiths and none.

There are currently 135 YMCA's in England, each run as independent charities. As the affiliating body YMCA England speaks to the national agenda influencing governments and other key policy makers, leaving local YMCA's free to respond to the needs of the their community.

Tees Valley YMCA was formed in 1993 and during the last 18 years has built an enviable reputation, working with hard to reach groups, delivering high quality programmes designed to meet either a specific need or to inspire and help young people reach previously unobtainable goals, whether in mind, body or spirit.

The YMCA stands alongside young people encouraging them to identify their gifting and utilise their talents to forge sustainable relationships within the community, securing a positive future for themselves and for their families.

To serve the local community; delivering programmes that meet the needs of young people.

To want nothing less for the young people of Tees Valley than we would want for our own children should they find themselves in a place of need.

To do nothing out of selfish ambition but will put the needs of young people before our own.

The underlying values that drive our work are built around the three pillars of Christianity; Faith, Hope, and Love, which run as a golden thread through our work.
