This year, Aviva Community Fund launched a competition to secure funding for important causes in the community.
Back in April, Aviva encouraged anyone and everyone to submit a project, as long as it made a difference to the community. There were four levels of funding and four categories to choose from. North East based social enterprise Success4All applied for £10,000 in the Supporting the Younger Generation category, with an aim to keep their West End Learning Hubs operational for the next academic year.
After the projects were displayed on the Aviva website for public voting, the hightest scoring went to the Aviva Community Fund Judging Panel.
For the whole of May, S4A worked hard to secure votes from friends, family, stakeholders and community supporters. It was all worth it; they got through to the judging panel, and – after a nail biting month – were announced as winners!
This award will help S4A to continue their amazing work in the community; reaching more children, young people and parents, and providing more volunteering opportunities to give local people the skills they need to make their community thrive and flourish.
Success4All is a social enterprise, co-operative and CIC based in the West End of Newcastle. It provides one-to-one mentoring and educational activities, that cannot be met by mainstream education, in areas of low academic achievement. Visit www.s4a.org.uk for more information.
