Nearly 100 people attended last week’s Social Value Conference hosted by the North East Social Enterprise Partnership and the Federation of Small Businesses. Delegates heard presentations from the Cabinet Office, Sunderland City Council and the North East Procurement Organisation and discussed the importance of the Act and how it could work in practice.
Two home grown enterprises, Sunderland Home Care Associates and Supatint Limited, shared their success stories and clearly demonstrated their social value. The big challenge now for commissioners, small businesses and social enterprises is how to produce more just like them.
